It is surprisingly seen that in Air Canada the largest Canadian airline the executive first suites are provided with special touch screen LCDs equipped with noise cancelling Sennheiser headphones. Today in the existing widespread market which is flooded with different brands of headphones this competitive product has been labeled the most efficient frequency manager headphone to balance the sound effectively. The top quality branded mobile phones like Nokia has also recommended these headphones as the best and the safest headphones to be plugged in your delicate ears.

I have a pair of pink lowrider Skullcandy headphones which I bought in Canada middle of last year. During travel at the beginning of this year the headphone cord has gotten cut because something heavy in my bag had slit through it. It’s not cut into two pieces but one side of the cord (where the sounds travels to the left ear) has its orange wire exposed and I can’t hear sound through that ear. I live in Australia. I don’t care about price so is there someway I can get this repaired I don’t know if the lifetime warranty on the headphones applies for damage I’ve done myself and I didn’t purchase them here in Australia… and I don’t have any of the receipts or anything…
So is there somewhere I can take/send my earphones to who will repair them somehow Thanks.
You can easily repair them yourself. Cut the broken (just the one side) of the cable. Strip back the plastic on both ends – you will have an exposed metal shield and the covered plastic inner – strip this back on both sides too.
Twist the two outer metal strands together and then wrap insulation tape (or sellotape) around them covering them completely. Then twist the inner strands together and cover these with tape also. Test they are working okay then wrap the whole lot together with more tape so they don’t pull apart. There are only 2 wires to connect on each side of the cable so it’s an easy job.
On more expensive headphones you can buy replacement cables but I don’t believe Skullcandy have removable (replaceable) cables. If you aren’t happy fixing them yourself get a friend who is good with electrics to do it for you. It’s not dangerous and is easily done.
